That is simply a fantastic piece of work by eBaum’s World user Infantgenius (of course, I’ve slightly modified it). As the description explains, correctly, the greatly improved titles “will blow your mind”. I mean, it makes you wonder what those authors were thinking, giving their great novels such ordinary titles…
In fact, I’d go as far as to suggest that each of these ten books (and many others, when it comes to that) get republished with the improved titles. Yes, I know that there are plenty of purists out there who would object on esthetic or emotional grounds, but these are the people who have already read these books, so I don’t think we should pay much attention to what they say.
And think about the huge benefits the society stands to reap from such an action: millions of people who otherwise wouldn’t come anywhere near one of these books would actually read them. So I don’t think there should be any argument here — LET’S REPRINT THESE BOOKS WITH THE BETTER TITLES!
