A police car’s dash camera recorded the fiery crash which ended a police chase through two Milwaukee suburbs.
Police said a driver refused to stop for Hales Corners police on Nov. 23, but drove eastbound in a westbound lane instead, went through a red light and slammed into an oncoming SUV at 76th Street and Layton Avenue in Greenfield.
The powerful crash knocked out a traffic light, a fire hydrant and the store’s retaining wall on the eve of the busiest shopping week of the year.
A police dash cam was recording as a Greenfield police car arrived at 76th Street and Layton Avenue moments after impact.
Greenfield Sgt. Scott Zienkiewicz said”:
Once on the scene, they assisted Hales Corners in removing three people from the two vehicles prior to the suspect vehicle being engulfed in flames.
Police said the two men in the SUV suffered injuries that aren’t life-threatening.
