A police car’s dash camera recorded the fiery crash which ended a police chase through two Milwaukee suburbs.
A police spokesperson said that a driver on Nov. 23 refused to stop for Hales Corners police, drove eastbound in a westbound lane, went through a red light and slammed into an oncoming SUV at 76th Street and Layton Avenue in Greenfield.
The huge crash took down a traffic light, a fire hydrant and the store’s retaining wall on the eve of the busiest shopping week of the year.
A dash cam was filming as a Greenfield police car arrived at 76th Street and Layton Avenue moments after the impact. Greenfield Sgt. Scott Zienkiewicz said:
Once on the scene, they assisted Hales Corners in removing three people from the two vehicles prior to the suspect vehicle being engulfed in flames.
A police spokesperson added that the two men in the SUV suffered injuries which are not life-threatening.
