A feral mama cat emerges from the garden and soon afterwards all of her adorable kittens follow… It is time they paid a visit to their human neighbor!
The lucky human who received the feral cat family visit says:
I noticed these feral cats living in my garden, I fed them some crab cakes and I think I made some friends!
“Mama cat emerges from my garden, she is friendly.
“Baby one — grey tiger with white… I noticed these feral cats living in my garden, I fed them some crab cakes and I think I made some friends!”
“Baby two — white with caramel blotches. Momma and 2 of the 4 babies have flea collars. A neighbor told me someone puts flea collars on the ones they can catch to keep the flea issue at bay.”
“Baby three — little black leopard, the runt.”
“I could not get a pic of baby four until later — she was the most shy and is a very pretty calico. Every time they became scared they ran under my car. I quietly sat at my outdoor table and watched them. Momma came to me, even got on my lap but I did not try to approach the babies, grab, pet or pick them up. I waited for them to get comfortable with me.”
“Momma still nurses?! Even though the babies look to be around 8 weeks old, and momma is tiny, they are still suckling. The little runt nursed the most and seemed like a real momma’s boy!”
“They all join in. I think to myself, where does momma get water? I went into the house to get a bowl of water.”
“What is this?! They clearly had no idea what this was but once they tasted it they loved it! It was obvious they had never had a drink from a bowl.”
“Momma looked so happy and thankful.”
“Uh oh, a male cat enters the scene, is this dad?!”
“Momma is quite comfortable with this orange Tom. They all decide to explore my mudroom.”
“The mudroom was boring…”
“Play begins with sticks being the favorite, followed by ants. Grey tiger is by far the most playful with the ants.”
“I put my hand down and the shyest kitten started licking my finger.”
“I decided to move closer to the car (safety) and get on the ground. The shy girl started licking my toes, she was the first to approach…”
“I made a friend!”
“And another friend! It turns out the little leopard is the least likely to be my friend.”
“They loved my shorts!”
“Yay, he likes me, too!”
