A dog adopted a litter of miniature piglets whose mother had rejected them at birth and her maternal instincts even caused her to begin lactating.
The tiny piglets were born over the weekend on a farm in Knotts Island, North Carolina, to mother Sophie. However, their birth mother refused to care for her babies and would not let them nurse, WTKR reported.
Fortunately, Dottie Jayne, a 12-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, came to the piglets’ rescue and has been caring for them since their birth.

And here are the highlights:
The piglets were born on a farm to their mother Sophie (pictured), but she refused to take care of them and wouldn’t let them nurse. Dottie Jayne had been watching the piglets intently since their birth.
The Jack Russell started watching the piglets like her own babies and even let them try to nurse (pictured) even though she hadn’t carried them and thus hadn’t lactated. But she ended up producing milk.
