A suspected DUI driver, who led police on an hour-long pursuit through California’s San Fernando Valley was taken into custody Tuesday night after a resident boxed in the suspect’s vehicle with his pick-up truck.
The chase began in the Pacoima area around 10 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Police had reason to believe that the driver was armed.
Sparks flew from the pursued vehicle as the driver led police on a chase which spanned streets and freeways.
The suspect drove most of the way with only three tires after one of his back wheels exploded.
At one point, the suspect almost hit a bicyclist in a parking lot.
The hour-long pursuit eventually came to an end at around 11 p.m. in the Tujunga area after a pick-up driver boxed in the pursuit suspect using his own vehicle.
Narek Nadzharyan, the pick-up driver, explained that he was trying to reverse his truck to avoid the pursuit driver and ended up blocking him.
