A North Carolina Bus Driver Runs Down An Armed Couple To Prevent A School Shooting.

A North Carolina school bus driver is being praised for her heroism after she stopped an armed couple outside of an elementary school.

School bus driver Alice Bradley was in her car at South Macon Elementary School when she saw a man with a gun walking around the parking lot. When the man pointed the gun at her, Bradley drove her car straight at him, sending him running for cover.

Police arrested the man, who was later identified as 38-year-old Adam Conley, as well as his girlfriend, 29-year-old Kathryn Jeter. (Scroll down for the video.)

Authorities say that the couple had five guns between them and admitted that they had planned to shoot students and teachers because, they said, it was “God’s will”.

Macon County Sheriff Robert Holland told My Fox 8 that Bradley’s brave action prevented bloodshed at the school. The bus driver told the station:

He just pointed it at me, and I said “Lord he’s going to shoot me”. I just boarded my car and went toward him.

Speaking to WYFF News 4, Bradley added:

I wasn’t afraid, I guess you’d call it. I was just nervous because, you know, you got kids and kids are important to me.

Police also found a cat that was shot and stabbed on the school’s campus. The sheriff said that when they questioned the couple, one of them said that the cat was “defective”.

Authorities and the students’ families are all praising Bradley’s actions, but she said that she only did what anyone else would have done in her place.

The suspects face various charges, including attempted first-degree murder, assault with intent to kill, gun possession and animal cruelty and are being held on a $1 million bond.

Sheriff Holland said that the two seemed to be on drugs and that they admitted to killing the cat on the school’s campus.
