The rollover crash took place in the 7500 block of Lake City Way Northeast / SR 522 on the off-ramp to southbound I-5 at about 4 a.m.

Police officers were responding to another call when the pursuit began. Officers were heading to a domestic violence call in the Lake City area just before 4 a.m.

When the officers arrived at a house, they heard a gunshot and saw a car speed away from the scene of the incident.

The officers pursued the car, which ended up on Lake City Way.

The suspect lost control of the vehicle, hit a median, clipped two other cars and then rolled over.

Another man was trapped inside the car and had to be rescued.

His statement to police has not made it clear who was driving the vehicle.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will formally identify the dead man.

Police have released the dash cam footage of the incident (above video) on Thursday afternoon which shows the chase and its immediate aftermath, though the crash itself occurred out of the cameras’ views.
