A Show-Stopping Shot Of Scotland’s Eilean Donan Castle…

Reddit user GHawke has shared one of the most striking images I have seen in some time, under a matter-of-fact title:

Went to Scotland. Captured a new Wallpaper for my Desktop.

The image has captured Scotland’s Eilean Donan Castle, which, as the author reminds us, made a short appearance in James Bond’s The World is Not Enough. The castle has also been seen in other movies.

From Wikipedia we learn that the castle, whose name means “island of Donn├ín”, traces its origins all the way back to the early thirteenth century. It also tells us that “since the castle’s restoration in the early 20th Century, a footbridge has connected the island to the mainland”.

Eilean Donan is as picturesque a place as you can hope to see and GHawke‘s photo has fully brought out its beauty.

Here it is, followed by a few other selected images, enjoy!
