This adorable series of pictures were captured by photographer David Jenkins, who spent 10 years studying the bond between newborn polar bear cubs and their mothers.
Mr. Jenkins took the amazing shots of the bears in Canada’s Wapusk National Park’s “denning area” where the polar bear mothers go to give birth. He was awarded a special license to get in, which is only available to the very best wildlife photographers.
The Irish photographer caught the cubs exploring their icy worlds for the first time as their mothers looked on. But Mr. Jenkins also managed to capture such amazing moments as seeing a mother with three surviving cubs, which is a very rare occurrence.
