A terrifying video just posted on YouTube shows two teenagers trying to throw an older man off of a moving subway train in Baltimore, Maryland. Fortunately, they were ultimately unsuccessful, but the most disturbing part is that, while at least three people filmed the incident, no one intervened to stop it.
The cell phone video below was taken by Diana Benbow and shows the two teenagers as they attack the other man on the subway in Baltimore, eventually opening the doors of the moving train and trying to push the man out. Baltimore Mass Transit Authority police believe that the train must have been either arriving or leaving the Mondawmin station.
The teens are seen punching and hitting the man, as they try to shove him out, and at one point the two are jumping on the man as others just watch the whole thing happen, offering no help. Just as disturbing is the fact that no one who witnessed the incident has come forward to report it to the law enforcement officials. Diana Benbow, who posted the video on Facebook this weekend, wrote:
This is what goes down in my city. Baltimore, be careful. If someone pulled a phone out, why didn’t they check to see if he was okay? So you gonna watch someone push someone else off the train while it’s in motion?
Well, that is the question, isn’t it. In the aftermath of the incident, many in Baltimore are now calling on the MTA to increase security at stations, as well as on the trains.
Police have said that no one has reported the incident to them and are asking that anyone with information contact them at 410-454-7720.
