Can Someone Please Tell Robert Downey Jr. That Real Life Is Not An Iron Man Set? Sitting Down For An Interview, He Greets This Journalist With ‘ Nice T*ts!’

Having earned an estimated $75m over the past year, Robert Downey Jr. has topped Forbes magazine’s annual list of the highest paid actors for the second year in a row, beating out rivals like Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale and Ben Affleck. So, considering the actor’s stratospheric status, it was only natural that his assistant would want to make sure everything was right for Jr.’s interview, fussing over things like room temperature and lighting. And then the show could start.

And, boy, was the start a memorable one. On joining Lorraine Kelly in his hotel suite for a chat, Jr. greeted her with “Nice t*ts!”, Ms. Kelly has revealed. The 54-year-old ITV breakfast host, who has a size 36C bust, said:

Robert was not quite himself. He had a time in his life when maybe he was discovering himself, having issues. He came on looking a bit worse for wear and he had no shoes on and he wandered around and he sat down and I said hello and he looked at me and said, “Nice t*ts!”.

It could have been worse. He could have said, “Oh, I don’t like them”. It is a difficult thing to respond to.

Well, I guess she does have a point. (Scroll down for a video of the interview.)

Almost as bizarre-sounding is the to the interview. Here is Ms. explaining:

We were in a hotel room waiting for him and a minion came in and said the room was too hot. He kept coming back every ten minutes saying “The room is too hot. Robert won’t like it”. The man had a Robert Downey Jr. thermometer. Anyway, Robert came and he was fine. He didn’t know what they were talking about.

I mean, could you come up with a more plausible stereotype of a Hollywood star?

And here is the interview, sans the “Nice t*ts!” greeting:
