Enough Of These Orange Jumpsuits. Here Is A Real Photo Of John Cantlie – A Freelance Reporter Taken Hostage By ISIS In Syria.

Reddit user derpchair_warrior has decided to share a photo of his friend the British journalist John Cantlie who was kidnapped in November 2012 in Syria, along with the American freelance photographer James Foley who has since been killed by the terrorists.

The Redditor explains why he’s shared this photo:

My friend is being held hostage by ISIS. The press keeps using crap photos of him in an orange jumpsuit. I’m putting this photo I took of him out there to show the real John Cantlie. A good man.

This is the second time John Cantlie has been taken hostage in Syria. Earlier in 2012, the reporter was kidnapped in Syria, along with a Dutch colleague. He was later shot in the arm as they managed to escape.

Since Cantlie’s second capture, ISIS (also called the Islamic State or IS) has been using the journalist in so-called “lecture series”, which he reads on camera. In the latest installment, Cantlie is seated at a table wearing an orange jumpsuit, which is used as a reference to the outfits worn by Muslim prisoners at the American detention centers at Guant├ínamo Bay. Reading from a script, Cantile “explains” how the United States’ involvement in the Syrian conflict will end up the way its misadventures in Vietnam did.

Apart from John Cantlie, ISIS holds hostage two American aid workers and another British citizen, Alan Henning, who the terrorists said in a previous video would be the next to be killed. (Scroll down for the video.)
