Having Slipped Into A Tar Pit, This Dog’s Body Solidified. After Two Days Of Work, Rescuers Finally Pulled It Out And SAVED It.

This is without a doubt the most amazing dog rescue story I have read in a long time. A huge thank-you goes out to the incredible team of rescuers who worked tirelessly to save the dog after it slipped into hot tar in western India and its body solidified.

The rescue took place in Udaipur, Rajasthan, and it began after a passer-by noticed the dog laying on the ground and covered in dirt and twigs. He immediately called the local team of Animal Aid Unlimited — a rescue center, hospital and sanctuary for injured and ill street animals.

By the time the rescuers arrived, the dog was already unable to move, stuck into the thick, sticky substance which had cooled and coated its fur with a solid layer of tar.

The video below shows the rescue team from Animal Aid Unlimited as they start their work by slowly removing the tar from the dog’s body, as it lies on the dirt. The team uses vegetable oil to soften the tar coating, gently pulling lumps of the sticky substance away as it comes loose. The rescuers, who kept working for two days to free the dog, said the tar was “as hard as rock”.

By the end of the video, the dog is freed from the tar and is completely transformed. It is seen wagging its tail as it is fed by one of the rescuers and moving around happily.

Great work by the Animal Aid Unlimited team which rescues thousands of animals every year and provides sanctuary to those who need care. Here is the video:

1. The dog, seen covered in twigs and leaves on the ground, was left unable to move after the thick, sticky substance solidified — coating its fur in a rigid layer of tar.
