A Detroit Lions’ fan was just trying to watch the football game, but instead found himself smack in the middle of a completely unknown couple’s relationship drama.
The man, identified as “Lye”, wrote about writing a note to a stranger at a Detroit Lions football game, after he says he saw the guy’s very pregnant girlfriend “romantically texting” another man throughout the game. Once the game was over, Lye handed the man a note, in which he revealed the adulterous text messages and then even posted a picture of the note and the couple involved on Facebook.
As you might expect, these images have since gone viral and have placed Lye in the middle of a heated debate over whether it’s appropriate to barge into into a complete stranger’s relationship.
Criticized online for meddling in strangers’ affairs, Lye defended his actions to Mad World News, saying that he usually likes to stay out of other people’s business, but this time he overheard a few rude comments the woman made to the man she was with and that made him pity her partner.
Lye says that at one point in the game, another fan commented on the size of a portion of fries saying: “Wow! For the price they charge for fries here, that’s pretty small. They barely give you anything.” To that, the woman in question replied: “It’s okay, I’m [used] to small things.”

Some have criticized him for interjecting himself into a stranger’s relation or for putting the woman at risk for physical abuse. But Lye says he would make the same decision again.
According to Lye’s post on Facebook, he was at a Detroit Lions game last month where he was seated behind a couple who appeared to be dating. But throughout the game, Lye claims he saw the pregnant woman casually texting someone named “Jason”, making comments like “I wish I was with you all day” and “I will see you as soon as I am done with him”.
Throughout, Lye claims the woman kept the phone screen tilted so that the man seated next to her could not see what she was up to and would even shut it off and put it away when he was talking to her.
Feeling sympathetic for the man in front of him, whom he believed was being cheated on, Lye wrote him a note at the end of the game. Lye later posted an image of the note and the woman who was was seated in front of him on Facebook, showing the back of her head with her phone, as she was writing a text.
Despite the backlash, Lye says that he would do the same again. He said:
I don’t regret a damn thing, well except the fact that I didn’t leave anything for him to be able to contact me on.
