Coming home, a couple were astonished to find a furry little house guest making himself very comfortable on their sofa.

On Tuesday night, Michele Goodman and Vicki Haines came back to their home in Soldiers Point, in Australia’s New South Wales state, to find a koala sitting on the couch and warming himself up in front of their heater. Vicki explained:

We just arrived home and there he was just sitting there, he looked exactly like he was watching TV.

Michele got a photo of herself and the koala through the window. “He’s sitting on the lounge and we’re outside in the wind and the cold trying to get a selfie through the window.”

While the creature appears cute and cuddly, koalas have been known to act aggressively, especially when feeling threatened.

Later, Vicki shared this image, along with the caption: “See it’s inside where out in the cold waiting for it to be rescued or how ever you look at is waiting to be rescued so we can go back inside.”
