One woman has opened up about her sex addiction, revealing the toll her unrelenting urge has taken on her life and explaining that managing it is a constant juggling act.
In an anonymous confession penned for Australia’s Gold Coast Bulletin the woman reveals:
I once had sex with two guys in one night before going to meet up with the guy I was supposed to be seeing at the time.
1. One woman has anonymously confessed that she is addicted to sex and that managing her condition is a constant juggling act.
This all got a little messy when at one stage I was seeing three men by the same name, in the same week.
Sex addiction is described by Wikipedia as “compulsive participation or engagement in sexual activity, despite negative consequences”. However, some experts argue that there’s no such thing as a clinical addiction to sex. “Sufferers”, they maintain, are merely looking for excuses to justify their lack of self-restraint.
The woman writes:
I’d meet up with men just to have sex. They wouldn’t even have to take me to dinner first. You don’t want to get too full before a bedroom romp, after all.
She elaborates on managing her relationships:
You really have to be careful when sending a text message in a hurry, especially when they’re of the opinion you’re only seeing them.
I know it sounds slutty, but when you’re newly seeing someone, it’s not like they’re going to do it every night.
2. The woman reveals that her need to feed her addiction rivals that of Sharon Stone’s character in Basic Instinct.
The woman explains that, if she had the time, she would sneak off to the bathroom to satisfy her urges and informs us that there are little “key-ring vibrators” which can be used in an emergency. She writes:
It’s not so bad when you’re in a monogamous relationship because you always have someone to get your fix with.
You don’t have to worry about catching anything because of your addiction.
The woman also writes about the guilt and shame she feels and how men are the ones expected to be obsessed with sex rather than women. She concludes:
It’s just a shame sometimes that the said session isn’t worth the hype — and I’ve had my fair share of duds.
Lucky people like us can still get our buzz elsewhere.
3. The confessor is a bit of a man-eater when it comes to satisfying her sex drive, much like Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct.
4. A psychologist outlines the benefits of sex addiction therapy.
