It Was A Love Story Two Decades In The Making, But These Two Married 20 Years After Chance Brought Them Together As A Flower Girl And A Ring Bearer At A Relatives’ Wedding…

It’s a love story two decades in the making, but Fate can do crazy things and it did bring a couple in Minnesota down the aisle — 20 years after they served as a ring bearer and a flower girl at a relatives’ wedding as kids.

Way back in 1995, Brittney and Briggs Fussy walked down the aisle together when they were both 3 years old. Brittney was an energetic flower girl, running around all the time and making commotion and Briggs was a stoic ring bearer. Briggs told BuzzFeed that his godmother was friends with Brittney’s mother and she chose Briggs to be the ring bearer and Brittney to be the flower girl in her wedding.

Briggs said that he did not keep in touch with Brittney and did not see her again until they were placed in the same class in ninth grade. Briggs told My Fox Twin Cities:

She turned around one day in class and said “I think I have a picture of you on my wall at home”. It’s funny how God’s plan came into place. I didn’t even know her before she turned around in class and told me that.

Brittney had recognized his unusual name and asked her mother if it could be the same boy. A date followed, then two and after five years together, the couple found themselves right back where they started. (Scroll down for the video reports.)

Brittney told My Fox Twin Cities:

It was funny, the first time I ever went over to his house his mom whipped a picture off her wall and said “I’ve had a picture of you up in my house forever”. It’s fun to have something special like that to look back on.

This time around, the ring bearer and flower girl are Brittney’s little cousins, prompting Briggs to comment:

They’re related, so it’s not going to be the same story.

So history will not be repeating itself…
