At an incredible 28 lbs in weight and four feet in length, Samson isn’t just a very large cat, the four-year-old Maine Coon is in fact the size of a full-grown bobcat!
With these measurements, Samson may just be the Guinness World Record holder of the “Largest Cat” crown after the passing three years ago of Stewie who came in at 4.04 feet.
Samson’s proud owner, Jonathan Zurbel, maintains that his record-breaking cat is not overweight or fat, but just healthfully sturdy. After all, Maine Coons are the largest breed of domestic cats.
Meet Samson, the mighty kitty who weighs 28 lbs and is 4 feet in length.
Here is a video of mighty Samson:
And here are the highlights:
This Maine Coon has been dubbed “the largest cat in NYC”.
Actually, Samson might be the largest cat in the world as the previous record holder was 4.04 feet long when he died in 2013.
He plays an excellent game of fetch, and he follows me from room to room and lays nearby, much like a dog.
Unlike a dog, however, Samson does not take outdoor walks on a leash.
Instead, his owner wheels his enormous feline in a pet stroller around his Williamsburg, Brooklyn, neighborhood.
Needless to say, the duo attracts quite a bit of attention.
Though Samson is unconventionally big, he’s in a perfect health!
“He is not fat or overweight but a strong Husky sturdy cat”, says his owner Jonathan.
“Samson is a very sweet but a tough cat, who fits the term gentle giant very well.”
Samson has also been getting a fair deal of attention on social media, as Zurbel has set up an Instagram account solely dedicated to his cat, which has over 22,000 followers. He says:
[Samson] is very kind and sweet and a very well behaved cat. He is a dream cat.
“He waits by my (bedroom) door and comes in first thing in the morning to sit on my belly.”
“He is very kind and sweet and a very well behaved cat.”
