Kelly Hofer grew up in Hutterite commune in Manitoba, Canada, where he began taking pictures at the age of 11. OK and what’s so interesting about that, you might ask. Well, the thing is that, in this conservative Christian sect, photography is considered a sin, so Kelly was running a huge risk.
Unfortunately, that risk proved all too real, for Kelly was forced to leave his family and the wider community two years ago at age 19 to pursue his love of photography. Fortunately for us, however, he didn’t leave before taking the amazing pictures you are about to see. More of Kelly’s photos you can see on his website here.
