So How Do You Get An Elephant Out Of A Mud Pit Like This One? Well, Where There’s A Will, There’s A Way.

After wallowing helplessly in a mud pit for up to 12 hours, this is the dramatic moment a digger came to rescue this young elephant from the deep trouble he had plunged into.

The incredible rescue took place near Makindu in Southern Kenya, where local farmers were stunned to discover the distressed pachyderm desperately trying to get out of a deep mud pit.

Unable to help the elephant climb the slippery clay sides of the pit on farmland bordering Chyulu Hills National Park, wildlife conservationists looked for help at a construction company, which used their digger to plow the elephant out to safety.

Conservation expert and wildlife photographer Jeremy Goss was on hand to capture these dramatic moments of the rescue on pictures and video.
