The Dramatic Moment A Good Samaritan Rescues A Mother And Daughter From A Burning RV.

A dramatic video has captured the moment a Good Samaritan risked his own life to pull a mother and daughter from their burning RV.

Fire department officials in Clermont, Florida, say that flames broke out of the 20-foot RV’s engine, as three people were traveling to Michigan on U.S. 27.

Ross Thompson, who just happens to run a business called “The RV Doctor”, and his son were driving by and saw the burning RV. Thompson pulled over and got out to help while his son recorded the rescue on his phone. (Scroll down for the video.)

Thompson told WESH:

I looked over, saw there was still a car attached to it. I was concerned. Isaw one man running around the outside so I didn’t think there was anybody else there. Because it was so engulfed I figured they were outside.

But Thompson quickly realized that they weren’t. He said:

I noticed when I was yelling there was a foot sticking out the window, so I stopped. We ran up to the back room and we rescued a mom and their daughter, and got them out, because they couldn’t get out.

They were trapped. The whole front end was engulfed there was no way they were going through the front door.

Joe Riley, his friend and her daughter were traveling to Michigan when his RV’s right front tire blew out. Riley explained:

It seemed like the tire was ignited and on fire almost within milliseconds, and the flames just come up. I ran out the door with a fire extinguisher, trying to put the tire out. I got burned all over.

Thompson said:

He ran back into the coach through the front fire wall and was inside, and we couldn’t find him.

Fortunately, they did find him and Riley went back for a second fire extinguisher.

The inferno was causing the RV’s tires to pop and melt, but there was a bigger concern — a 100-pound propane tank underneath the vehicle. Thompson said:

The fire was working its way back towards it, so I was telling people to get away from the coach for the toxic fumes and because I was concerned about that propane tank blowing. If that tank blew, it would have been a lot worse.

I’m just glad I was there. I think God put me there in the right time at the place to help those people out.

Riley was thankful for Thompson’s efforts:

I certainly appreciate his help.

Riley explained that his motor home is total loss, but he and the passengers will be OK.
