A surveillance camera has caught a female driver having terrible time trying to park her SUV in a snow-covered (and mostly empty) Calgary parking lot earlier this month and the clip has so far attracted more than 2.5 million views online.
The CCTV footage shows the driver continually going back-and-forth, turning the car’s wheels at awkward angles and even bumping into another vehicle at one point. And the most amazing thing is that she has plenty of room to work with.
After a number of fruitless attempts at getting her BMW X-Class SUV into position, the woman finally gives up and drives off. A man is seen offering help her at one point, perhaps not realizing that it was his car she bumped into.
After the video hit YouTube, the authorities launched an appeal to identify the driver, considering it dangerous driving. Later on Monday, a spokesperson with Calgary police confirmed to CBC News that the woman had been identified and issued with a $115 “unsafe backing” ticket.
She reportedly has said that she didn’t know she had hit another car. The video, titled Calgary’s worst driver has provoked both amusement and outrage.
