1. Carl Moore has been hailed hero after he punched a bear in the face in order to rescue his tiny dog, Lacy (pictured), from an imminent mauling.
The action scene began when Moore heard Lacy, his dog, whimpering outside. He ran to check out what’s going on and was confronted by a bear. Moore told CBS Sacramento:
And I raised both hands in the air and I cussed at him, “Rrraaaaaaa! Get out of here, you bastard!”. And he looked at me like “Go eff yourself.”
Needless to say, that did not go down well with Moore and he proceeded to punch the bear right in the face.
2. Moore said: “And I raised both hands in the air and I cussed at him, ‘Rrraaaaaaa! Get out of here, you bastard!’. And he looked at me like ‘Go eff yourself.'”
He come up like this, and turned, boom, I hit him hard. Tyler said I damn corkscrewed his head.
John Sargent, a friend and an employee at the construction company Moore owns, said that the bear was a bit shorter than Carl, but still a formidable opponent. He said:
He’s an ex-first recon Marine. He’s been in barroom brawls, all kinda stuff.
3. Moore explained what took place during the confrontation: “He come up like this, and turned, boom, I hit him hard. Tyler said I damn corkscrewed his head.”
As for the bear, he hasn’t been seen since the incident. And if he does come back, Moore is ready to greet him. He said:
This guy’s a jerk, but he ain’t been back since he’s been smacked by Carl.
