This Dog Was Rescued FROZEN TO THE FLOOR Of A Garage In Michigan Where Her Owner Left Her ‘For Days’.

Police in Michigan have rescued a dog who was found frozen to the floor of a garage where she had been left by her owner for several days.

Nicknamed Elsa after the Snow Queen from the movie Frozen, the 10-year-old Chow was found in Ecorse, Michigan, with bleeding paws and frostbitten ears. Her lead was wrapped around her leg as windchill temperatures went down to a low of -10F.

Police had found a frozen bowl of water inches away from Elsa, just out of reach. (Scroll down for the video.)

The police were called to Elsa’s rescue by a neighbor who heard whimpering inside the building at 9.30 am on Tuesday. Patricia Trevino of the River Rouge Animal Shelter told WJBK:

It took about a half an hour to get her unfrozen from the ground.

They had to pour warm water on her. Her two legs were frozen. The side of her face and her side, she was literally lying frozen to the ground.

The dog was incoherent, was not responsive. She didn’t start crying until the water was poured on her

3. Elsa’s foot was bleeding after officials eventually pried her from the inches of frozen water.

Speaking from the Healthy Paws Medical Center in Westland, where the dog is being treated, Trevino added:

Her feet are literally bleeding tonight when she walks because they were frozen. They were a block of ice. The toes were frozen together.

Elsa’s owner claimed he left the dog in the garage at 5 am and did not realize how cold it was.

His neighbor Marylou Rotrock disputes the owner’s account, claiming that he had been out of town for days.

4. Donations for Elsa have surpassed $1,000.

The owner, who has not been identified, has been cited and the police are pursuing animal cruelty charges, WJBK reported. Rotrock told Fox News:

I kept hearing (the dog), so I had to walk over there. And I’m not one that goes over on other people’s property. Something told me I had to.

Her body was frozen to the ground.

There was no food in the bowl and some of the excrement had plastic bag pieces in it.

Donations for Elsa have surpassed $1,000, according to WJBK. To donate contact Healthy Paws on 734-326-7297.
