So, help me out here. This one is certainly novel — there can be no doubt about that. But the question that immediately hit me and is still banging around in my head is “why would anyone do that”? I mean, why? Well, the answer took an unexpected shape.
So, Reddit user MakeSushi1, who happens to be the real-life Chef Davy, has shared the aforementioned video under the title “Yes it is True I Boiled my GoPro to Get You This Footage :)” But here is the most amazing part. Actually, let’s have the author explain:
well, I placed the gopro in the standard underwater case it comes with and when the air inside the case got too hot it expanded causing the case to fracture creating a leak, this was towards the end so as soon as it happened I pulled it out before much water could get in, anyway when I took it out the case the LCD screen was blacked out and the camera was very hot and unresponsive…. honestly thought I broke it, once it cooled down though it started to work again and to my surprise it now works fine and saved the video footage!
So, the camera survived! Can you believe that? I guess now everyone will start buying GoPros just so that they can have them boiled and then boast to their friends how they kept working. If you are among those enthusiasts, the author explains how to do it:
The water needs to be hot enough so the egg white sets before it reaches the bottom, also no too hot so it doesn’t break up the fragile egg. Also keep the egg moving so it sticks less∩╗┐.
Or was that the recipe for how to get your eggs not to stick to the bottom of the pan? Anyway, just follow it and you’ll be fine…
Share this unique video with your friends below — chances are that at least one of them will attempt to replicate Chef Davy’s feat…
