Imgur user robsc16 has posted an absolutely incredible photograph of a turtle which appears to be just getting out of the sea, presumably to lay eggs, as that is the only reason turtles ever get out of the water.
You will not be surprised to learn that, just 11 hours after being posted, the image has been viewed no fewer than 775,000 times. If anything, I would have expected more.
Unfortunately, robsc16 has not credited the source, which he or she should have done, but I was able to do that. It is photographer Thomas P. Peschak and it is a part of his photo series Lost World of Aldabra.
For those of you who are interested in the location, here is what Wikipedia tells us about Aldabra:
Aldabra is the world’s second largest coral atoll. It is situated in the Aldabra Group of islands in the Indian Ocean that are part of the Outer Islands of the Seychelles. Uninhabited and extremely isolated, Aldabra is virtually untouched by humans.
Now here is the stunning photograph, followed by Thomas P. Peschak’s other Lost World of Aldabra images, enjoy! (Click on the images for a better view.)
