This Is The Ferrari Of Trains. Very Fast, Ultra Luxurious, Extremely Expensive… I’d Take A Ride.

If you thought that luxury trains were a thing of the distant past (during the Gilded Age, every self-respecting robber baron had to have one), think again. Ferrari designer Ken Okuyama has teamed up with Japan’s JR East Railways to create the Cruise Train. Expected to launch in the spring of 2017, it will cost around $50 million, give or take.

The revolutionary 34-passenger train will have 10 carriages, including two observation areas, each one boasting glass walls so that the passengers relaxing on comfortable, sofa-like seating can enjoy the landscape outside. Additionally, there will be a window at the front of the train, so the track ahead will be visible.

The Cruise Train will also feature a two-story deluxe suite car, equipped with two beds on the lower floor, a private bathroom, and a lounge area on the second floor. The train will have five additional guest sleeper carriages. (Scroll down for the video.)
