You will love this one, I promise you, especially the chocolate lovers among you, although by the end of this post you will be left craving for a piece of a perfectly shaped chocolate cake… I know I am. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
So, what you are about to witness in the images and video that follow is the collaboration between the team at Studio Wieki Somers┬áand chocolatier Rafael Mutter. Together, they created the appropriately named Chocolate Mill.
The one-of-a-kind mill consists of a giant cylindrical chocolate block which is carefully organized in 10 perfectly stacked layers. Flavored shapes are used to create various geometric patterns.
Then the fun begins. A big blade, which looks like a pizza slicer, is position on the top of the chocolate block, barely touching its surface. Then it is turned around in such a way that it grazes shavings off the top of the block, revealing the hidden layers as it turns. You will see it at work in the video below.
