A seven-year-old boy has been mauled to death by his family’s two puppies. Malaki Mildward was attacked by two six-month-old dogs on Thursday afternoon in College Springs, Iowa, and was pronounced dead 50 minutes after the attack.
The police were notified shortly before 5 pm and arrived within minutes, but by that time Malaki was not breathing, they said in a report. Emergency paramedics were also called to the scene and performed CPR, Omaha.com reported.
It has been reported that both of the dogs who attacked the child stood by calmly as the paramedics were trying to save him. Unable to revive the boy, the paramedics transported him to Clarinda Regional Medical Center, where he was declared dead.

It was reported that Malaki lived with his older sister, his mother, Amber Braymen, Jeremiah Hicks and Hicks’ son.
Page County Sheriff Lyle Palmer told Omaha.com that the dogs who attacked Malaki were mixed-breeds with some Bulldog heritage, but neither Could be considered a Pit Bull. He added that he saw the dogs in the pound on Friday morning before they were euthanized and says that they showed “no aggressiveness”.
Malaki’s family had another dog, a Bulldog who was not involved in the attack — and this canine was also put down on Friday morning. Sheriff Palmer said that Malaki often played outside with the dogs and there had never been any problems.
