A customer at a Bojangles fast food restaurant in Virginia got much more than he bargained for with his chicken meal on Friday.
James Minor of Henrico County, Virginia, initially complained that the chicken he had ordered was cold, but when staff brought him a fresh box, he found $4,500 in cash and deposit slips inside. Speaking about the incident, Minor told WVTR:
When I opened the box up, the Bojangles’ chicken box, there was probably close to $4,500 in cash and also SunTrust deposit slips.

Being an honest man, Minor gave it all back to the restaurant’s manager. Yet, the manager wasn’t particularly grateful — rather than thanking him, he told Minor that he would have called the police if he hadn’t come back.
Speaking about the manager’s reaction, Minor told the station:
He told me in an arrogant, nasty attitude being disrespectful saying that, “We would’ve called the authorities on you, too.”
Here I am doing a good thing, bringing the money back. Most folks probably would’ve kept on going and wouldn’t have recognized it until they got home.
The manager did offer Minor a meal and a tailgate party for returning the money and the corporate office offered him a $100 gift card.
