Today’s Aww: Meerkats Love Photographers And Their Cameras…

If you are a small creature making your living in Africa’s savannas, there are a lot of things that want to eat you, which is why you need to be resourceful.

And as U.K.-based photographer Will Burrard-Lucas has learned, a bunch of cute little meerkats have discovered that his body, of all things, can make for a nice little lookout post.

The top of Burrard-Lucas’s head seems to be their favorite perch, but failing that, these little creatures would take anything on offer, really.

Oh, and meerkats do take full advantage of the photographer’s cameras, when given the chance, to scan the area for things that could mean harm (see #4).

And given their size, that could mean pretty much anything that walks, crawls, creeps or flies. Amazingly resourceful little beasts!

Come to think of it, lions and hyenas should thank Burrard-Lucas that he didn’t bring any guns with him…
