A stray dog had fallen through the ice and into a lake and faced certain death. Luckily, a passer-by saw the canine, quickly undressed and jumped into the icy water without any hesitation to rescue it.
The incident took place around 5 pm on Monday in a Russian village named Shishkino, according to KP.ru. The man who rescued the dog is identified only as Ivan. A 21-year-old, Ivan reportedly had a heart condition which prevented him from serving in the military.
But he didn’t let that stop him from jumping into the icy water and risk his life to rescue the stray. Following the rescue, the dog went his way, whereas Ivan asked for a ride to a nearby market to buy some vodka to warm himself up.
Once he arrived at the store, Ivan saw the dog he had just rescued sitting there. So he bought some sausages for the canine, named him Rex and took him home.
