Three deer somehow managed to get in the middle of the completely frozen Albert Lea Lake in Minnesota, despite the fact that their hooves made walking on the ice all but impossible.
The animals were stranded on the ice for several days, before being reached by a police officer and his father, who were able to pull them to firm ground using hovercraft.
Police officer James Kenison and his father, Doug, secured the deer using ropes, before dragging them out of their frozen trap and to the shore. By that point, the animals could barely stand up.
